Elon Musk and xAI unveiled the new AI model Grok 3. It already has a voice function

Elon Musk and xAI introduced Grok 3, a new powerful AI model that surpasses competition like GPT-4o. Grok 3 brings enhanced capabilities such as DeepSearch and a beta voice mode. The model also uses ten times more computational power compared to its predecessor and is available for X network users.

Elon Musk and xAI unveiled the new AI model Grok 3. It already has a voice function

The company xAI, led by Elon Musk, officially unveiled its latest AI model Grok 3. This novelty, a response to models like GPT-4o from OpenAI and DeepSeek, brings improvements and new features, including voice interaction with the chatbot.

More powerful than ever

Grok 3 was developed over several months, with its launch originally planned for 2024. The model was trained in a massive data center in Memphis containing 200,000 GPUs, providing it ten times more computational power compared to the previous version Grok 2.

According to Musk, Grok 3 aims to be a "maximally truth-seeking AI," even if its answers may deviate from political correctness. Grok 3 is available in several variants. The smaller Grok 3 mini model offers faster responses but with slightly lower accuracy.

A special variant Grok 3 Reasoning is capable of deeper analysis and better answer verification. This technology builds on the same principle as OpenAI o3-mini or the Chinese model DeepSeek R1.

Outperforming the competition?

xAI claims that Grok 3 surpasses GPT-4o in key benchmark tests like AIME and GPQA, which assess the capability of models to solve mathematical and scientific tasks at a PhD level. Moreover, Grok 3 successfully participated in the Chatbot Arena testing platform, ranking among the most powerful models.

In addition, it brings other features. Users can, for example, activate the "Think" mode for more complex queries or use the "Big Brain" mode, which adds additional computational capacity for deeper analysis. There is also the DeepSearch feature available, combining internet analysis and the social network X to generate summaries of relevant information.

New voice function in beta

Grok 3 also newly includes voice integration, enabling communication with AI using voice commands and listening to responses. The feature is currently available only in beta for Premium+ users on the X network and can be activated in the Grok iOS app. An Android version will be available later.

In the coming weeks, xAI plans to add a "voice mode" to the Grok app, allowing the model to communicate by voice. In the following months, Grok 3 will then become available for corporate use via xAI API. Musk also announced plans to open-source the previous version Grok 2 in the future.
